Psychiatric Advance Directives: Might Widespread Adoption Reduce Involuntary Treatment?

About this event

An event from the Center for Law, Ethics, and Psychiatry – Seminar on Legal and Ethical Issues in Psychiatry

Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs) as a form of advance care planning have been adopted in more than half the states, yet their real-world impact lags considerably. This presentation will discuss how PADs developed, hopes for their impact, barriers to their use, and efforts to implement them more broadly.
